Ocean State Facility Services (OSFS)

This is the founding family business for Cleantech – read how it all started!

In 1967, with two small children and another on the way, George Agostini, working full-time in the family construction company, began Ocean State Janitorial Service, Inc. by buying some commercial cleaning equipment and various other supplies. Working on little sleep, George started cleaning his very first account at night. Quickly proving his ability to provide a high-quality service at reasonable prices, George promptly built a portfolio of cleaning contracts. Initially focused on the challenging cleaning of retail stores, George’s reputation quickly expanded, and he and his well-supervised crews began servicing office buildings, private schools, and a variety of other buildings. By 1983, Ocean State Janitorial had grown to over 120 employees servicing 80 accounts.

In 1983, after receiving his bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Providence College, David began working alongside his father and assumed control of the company in 1985. David became Vice President from 1986 until 1992 when he assumed his present position as President and CEO. Since that time, David’s focus on quality, customer service, building relationships, exceeding customer expectations, training, response time, and supervision, has helped him grow the company to where it now services over 600 clients.

Seeing a lack of pride within the industry, David began the franchise division, Cleantech Services Inc. in 1995. The rest of the story is being written by third-generation owners Josh and Dalton Agostini!
